I've played with an iPod Touch; it's amazing! I'm sure I'd get pretty hooked to it if I got one, but I don't really need one. <B>The iPhone.</b> Personally, I'd just wait it out --- well, I have to seeing as we don't have them here, in Australia, yet --- especially if you don't need it yet or aren't sure. As far as I'm aware you have to activate your iPhone to even use the iPod part. Although there may be a hack/jailbreak to get around that. <B>The iPod Touch.</b> Looking at your situation I think the iPod Touch would be more suited to you at this point in time; you have 12GB of music: the Touch has a 16GB model which would fit all your music easily --- the iPhone only holds half that. It's also much thinner, lighter, and would have a longer battery life because you're not constantly connected to a cellular network. I'm going to wait until the iPhone comes to Australia (it'll probably be a 2nd Gen version) before I make my decision. Go and have a good play with one and see if it suits your needs.
